Donation Deductions: Maximizing Your CSR Benefits
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) isn't just good for the community; it is a legitimate part of an optimized tax strategy in Thailand. If your company made donations in 2025, ensure you are claiming the maximum deduction this month.
The Double Deduction (2×)
Thailand offers a powerful incentive for specific types of giving:
- Education: Donations to registered schools and universities often qualify for a 200% deduction. (Spend 10,000 THB, deduct 20,000 THB from profit).
- Hospitals: Public hospitals and certain medical institutions also qualify for this double deduction.
General Charities
Donations to general registered foundations (like the Red Cross) are typically deductible at 100% of the actual amount, subject to a cap of 10% of your net profit.
The e-Donation System
To reduce fraud, the Revenue Department has moved to an e-Donation system. When you donate using a QR code or to a registered institution, the data is pushed directly to the tax portal. If you made a cash donation, you must have an official receipt with the foundation’s Tax ID to claim the deduction this March.
