Security Checklist: Protecting Your Office during the Break

Siam Advice FirmOperations Analysis

With most offices closing their physical doors today or tomorrow, security becomes the top priority. While Thailand is generally safe, an extended holiday period with many empty buildings requires basic precautions.

The 5-Point Security Check

  1. Utilities Power-Down: Unplug all non-essential electronics. Power surges can occur during the sporadic April thunderstorms. More importantly, it reduces fire risk.
  2. Water Shut-Off: Check all taps and main valves. A small leak on April 12th can turn an office into a swimming pool by April 16th.
  3. Physical Access: Double-check window locks and internal safe codes. If you have on-site servers, ensure the cooling system is on a separate, monitored circuit.
  4. CCTV Check: Log in to your security cameras from your phone today. Ensure the 'Cloud Recording' is active and that your lenses are clean.
  5. Key-Holder Protocol: Does your building management have the phone number of someone who can actually travel to the office in an emergency? Ensure your primary contact isn't on a flight to Tokyo or London.

Data Security

Perform a full cloud backup of your local servers tonight. If anything happens to the physical hardware during the holiday, your company's "Digital Soul" remains safe and accessible.
