Songkran Day 3: Looking Ahead to Re-opening
Today marks the final official day of the Songkran holidays. Known as Wan Phaya Wan, it is the day when the new year truly begins. It is a day of receiving blessings from parents and elders and looking forward with optimism.
The Transition Phase
While the official holiday ends tonight, remember our earlier advice: tomorrow and Friday are "Sandwich Days." Some businesses will reopen, but many will remain at half-capacity until Monday.
Your Re-opening Checklist
- Staff Check-in: Send a light "Welcome Back" message to your team on Friday or Sunday. Ensure everyone is safe and has a plan for their return travel.
- Backlog Management: Don't try to clear a week of emails in the first 2 hours on Monday. Categorize your inbox into "Critical," "Client-Facing," and "Administrative."
- Q2 Kickoff: Use the fresh energy of the New Year to hold a short team huddle on Monday. Re-align everyone with the goals for the next three months.
